Vapor sublimation pressure
for reference compounds
The
current set of calibration compounds was
suggested in 1999 by ICTAC:
Sabbah, R.; Xu-wu, A.; Chickos, J. S.; Leitão, M. L. P.;
Roux, M. V.; Torres, L. A.,
Reference materials for calorimetry and
differential thermal analysis. Thermochim.
Acta 1999, 331, 93-204. 61
(section 3. Reference materials for measurement of phase change enthalpies, subsection 3.2. Solid-gas phase changes)
Benzoic acid, Benzophenone, Naphthalene, Ferrocene, Biphenyl, Anthracene, Phenanthrene, trans-Stilbene, Pyrene,
1,3,5-Triphenylbenzene, Iodine
The same set of compounds is used for checking performance of vapor pressure apparatuses.
Step by step, we remeasure data (in cooperation with laboratories in Lyon, Porto, and Gaithersburg) for most compounds from this set (apart from rather volatile iodine):

Remaining reference compounds (Biphenyl, trans-Stilbene, 1,3,5-Triphenylbenzene) will be studied in near future along with newly suggested references (benzanthron, perylene, succinic acid, [C2mim][NTf2] (1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoro-methylsulfonyl)amide, triethylene glycol, 1-naphthol, dibenzothiophene, ...)
In addition, we have determined vapour pressures for some other substances which have also come to be considered as reference data.:
